WHY GO
Wildlife lovers and birdwatchers will adore the Seychelles. The islands are home to the world’s smallest frog and and some of its biggest tortoises, as well as 12 species of birds.
There are walks and hikes like the Anse Major trail on Mahé is an easy stroll through incredible granite boulders. The Anse Georgette trail on Praslin is a moderate trek between two beautiful beaches on the island’s north point. The hike to Morne Seychellois, the highest point on Mahé, is a challenging five-hour hike – but you will be rewarded with breathtaking views across the islands.
WHEN TO GO
The best times to visit Seychelles are April, May, October and November.
These months represent the transition times between the hot and humid northwest trade winds (from November through March) and the cooler southeast trade winds that define April through October.

It’s a charming and discreet retreat with just 10 villas – all with private pools and wraparound sea views.
At low tide you can walk across a sandbar to the beaches on nearby Long Island or kayak the short distance to Moyenne Island, a natural sanctuary for giant tortoises. There are also free daily transfers to Mahé.

Around Mahe' Island
You can organize a private tour with the resort or book a tour here.
We had a fantastic day with our driver Michelle 🙂
You can have a tour around the island and stop anytime at a restaurant or café for lunch or just a quick bite.
We visited the polular beaches watching the sunset over the horizon.
The Victoria Market is a very busy market, lots of locals getting their shopping. They sell fresh fruit and vegetable. They also sell fresh fish and dry fish. This is good place to buy souvenirs and the price were very reasonable.
In front of the market there is the Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple – the only Hindu temple in the Seychelles.
Then we visited the Victoria Clock Tower ,the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and the Bel Air Cemetery.
But the best one was the Jardin Du Roi Spice Garden, hilltop spice plantation with a small furnished house museum, nature trails & Creole restaurant.
One day in Praslin - Le digue
You have two choises:
- Organize the trip by yourself:taking the flight to Praslin and back gives you the possibility to have a longer trip than in the case of ferry. You can start with La Digue, exploring L’Union Estate and Grand Anse. Then you can go back to Praslin for Vallee de Mai and Anse Lazio. Renting a car on Praslin is recommended in order to avoid a long wait for the bus and maximizing your time spent enjoying the island attractions.
- Booking this tour, you have less stress and you can enjoy the entire day at Le Digue.
One of the most beautiful beaches is Grand Anse and Anse Source D’Argent, has been used as a backdrop for many a film and fashion shoot.
