WHAT TO EXPECT
Language: The official languages of Bali are Balinese and Indonesian, of which Balinese is the native language of Bali and the Indonesian unites the whole of Indonesia.
Currency: The rupiah is the official currency of Indonesia. 1USD is equivalent to about 14000IDR.
Credit Cards and ATMs: Visa and MasterCard are the most accepted credit cards in Bali. Some hotels and restaurants do take Amex, Diners Club even less. Keep in mind that very often there will be a 3 to sometimes even 5% surcharge on credit card transactions.
Plugs: The Voltage is 230V in Indonesia and Bali. You can expect the 2 pin socket and plug as used in larger parts of Europe. Whether you are staying in a hotel or in a private villa you should be able to get an adapter if you ask for one. The pins are round, not flat or rectangular.

When to Go: The best time to visit Bali is between April and October, the island’s dry season. Bali experiences only two seasons: the rainy season and the dry season.
